End the Microbend: 4-week Masterclass πŸ’ͺπŸ€“

This course was held live in March 2025. If you'd like to purchase the recordings, click here!

Whether you're working on aerial inversions, jumping or pressing into handstands, or aerial/pole flares, there's nothing quite as exasperating as watching your training footage and seeing that sneeeeaky little microbend creep into your skill.

Aesthetically, we know that microbend is less than desirable. But the microbend is more than just a visual nuisance; it often presents itself as a symptom of a strength, mobility, or coordination deficit elsewhere in the body - there are SO many other reasons for a microbend besides just weak quads &/or tight hamstrings. And once you're able to assess and identify the cause/s of your microbend, AND create an effective program of exercises to address it, you might just find that the microbend-laden skill feels SO MUCH EASIER. And you might just find yourself finally progressing beyond that plateau.

A few years ago, I held a virtual workshop for this very issue. It was 90 minutes long, and like SO many workshops I run, I found myself wishing I had MORE TIME to really dissect out all of the nuances even further.

So that's what I'm doing differently this time around: instead of offering the same 90 minute workshop, I'm turning it into a MONTH LONG MASTERCLASS. Starting on March 12th, we'll meet every Wednesday at 10am pacific - or whenever you choose to watch the recording - live attendance is helpful, but not mandatory. Each class will be between 60 and 90 minutes long, and by the end of this month long course, you'll know EXACTLY what's causing your microbend, as well as what to do - in detail - to address it and to bust through the plateau of whatever skill you're stuck on.

END THE MICROBEND: A 4-Week Masterclass

Please note: This course covers microbends that occur when the leg is in FRONT of you; as in a leg lift with the leg either in a pike or a straddle. We will not be covering microbends that occur when the leg is BEHIND you, as in the back leg of a split or an arabesque.

Week 1 (March 12th): Understanding the Fundamentals

  • Microbend mechanics and relevant anatomy
  • The Hierarchy of Needs Pyramid
  • The Diagnostic Flowchart

Week 2 (March 19th): Assessment Time

  • Self-assessment techniques
  • Identifying your patterns
  • Determining primary focus areas

Week 3 (March 26th): Prescriptive Exercises, Part 1

  • Core stability techniques
  • Hip control exercises
  • Practical application guidance

Week 4 (April 2nd): Prescriptive Exercises, Part 2 & Integration

  • Strengthening the movement agonists
  • Techniques for decreasing antagonist muscle tension
  • Creating your personalized program

And here are all the other important details:

  • Cost: EARLY BIRD = $99 USD if you register BEFORE March 6th; after that the price increases to $125 USD.
  • Recordings: included for EVERYONE for one year. Live attendance is helpful, but not required. I will have a Q & A submission form for folks attending asynchronously, so that everyone will be able to ask questions.
  • Tools Needed: Yoga blocks (2-3), foam roller, several resistances of mini bands, 1-2 light to medium resistance superbands, a mobility peanut, a chair, floor, and wall space.

So if you'd like to join me in the quest for STRONG LINES, click here to register-- I can't wait to see you!

Have a great week,

Jen
