Hi friends, I'm coming atcha with TWO huge announcements:
Location information (book here):
The Full Story + FAQAbout the Vancouver ExpansionWhen I first joined the Oregon PT government action committee and started advocating for this bill, I got SO fired up about dry needling - it had been a huge part of my physical therapy practice until I moved to Oregon, which is one of the 4 states that did not include it in PT scope of practice. Since Portland is just a hop-skip away from Vancouver, and I was already licensed as a PT in Washington State, I started looking into their dry needling endorsement process. I quickly found that I already met their VERY stringent and lengthy training requirements, so I applied and was quickly approved. And that's how I came to work at Méraki Collective in downtown Vancouver, Washington, in addition to my established Portland office at AWOL Dance Collective. This expansion allows me to better serve my patients, who only have to drive a few extra minutes to see me in Washington. Both locations offer full accessibility, gender-neutral bathrooms, and convenient street parking. While the Vancouver office doesn't have aerial rigging points (those remain exclusive to the Portland location), I am so excited to offer dry needling as part of a comprehensive treatment strategy (when indicated, of course)! More about Dry Needling (and why I love it SO much)I've been trained and certified in dry needling through Kinetacore (now Evidence in Motion) since 2013, bringing over a decade of specialized experience to your treatment. Additionally, I also am endorsed to perform dry needling by the Washington state department of health. Beyond extensive clinical experience, I've also contributed to the field by teaching dry needling in doctoral physical therapy programs and conducting research on its effectiveness for treating various orthopedic injuries. This combination of extensive hands-on experience, educational expertise, and research background ensures you receive the safest evidence-based care. So - what IS it? Dry needling is a technique that uses sterile, single-use monofilament needles to directly target myofascial trigger points and connective tissue in ways that traditional manual therapy sometimes cannot reach. The research-backed benefits include:
For patients dealing with stubborn issues that haven't fully responded to exercise and manual therapy alone, dry needling often provides the breakthrough needed to achieve your movement and performance goals.
Scheduling: I'm accepting appointments at the Vancouver location starting next week. Given the enthusiasm surrounding this expanded treatment option, I encourage you to book sooner than later to secure your preferred appointment time. COVID Safety: I continue to maintain safety protocols at both locations, including masking during all patient visits. Questions? If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm always happy to chat! Have a great weekend, Dr. Jen Crane, PT, DPT, ATC |
