🔎Is your psoas ACTUALLY tight?

Hear me out: your hip flexors MIGHT NOT be as tight as you think they are!

Nerve tension SO frequently masquerades as muscle tension, especially with our hip flexors. And here’s the thing…if it IS femoral nerve tension that’s limiting your hip flexibility, stretching those hip flexors is NOT gonna get you where you’re tryna go. Nerves and muscles require COMPLETELY different types of drills to improve overall flexibility, so it’s definitely not a one size fits all situation…that’s where nerve glides come in!

Check out this video below to learn a QUICK SELF-ASSESSMENT for femoral nerve tension *and* a few nerve glides to help get you on the path to happier hips!!

KEY POINTS: DO NOT do three million of these drills. More is not better. You are aiming for a SLIGHT stretching sensation during nerve glides and tensioners — nothing earth shattering!! Test your nerve tension and hip flexibility before and after these exercises— you should see a fairly immediate improvement if nerve tension is limiting your flexibility!

And finally…Nerve glides are a GREAT place to start, but they’re just ONE piece of the puzzle when you’re trying to improve hip flexibility long term.

If you're looking for more guidance on hip flexibility training for splits or backbends, check out my on-demand classes and active flexibility programs! There are SO many options to choose from - if you're not sure which is right for you, shoot me an email and we'll chat!

That's all for now - have a great week!
