Great news: HB 3824B (The PT Modernization Act) just passed out of the Senate Health Care Committee!

There were 4 “yes” votes and only one “no” vote.

Here's what the amended bill does:

• Allows us to perform dry needling
• Enables us to certify disability placards for our patients
• Permits us to utilize sonographic equipment specifically for PT purposes without requiring additional licensing
• Establishes protection for the "DPT" credential, ensuring it remains exclusively for use by Doctors of Physical Therapy (vs “Dynamic Personal Trainers”)

We are in the home stretch, but it’s not a done deal yet - the next step is the full senate vote, and our opposition is going to pull out all the stops to try to kill this bill.
